Some children see me and they call out, Hey Cotton Candy
They call you Cotton Candy
Yeah must be cause I look delicious, what do you think
I think its your white beard, its like a white bushy jungle around your face, the hairs look course and knarly
Oh you look too much at what you see on me and you need to look in my eyes. That is how you learn about truth. inside-the-eyes. The eyes cannot hide your soul.
Your eyes look troubled, they don’t trust what they see, they hurt easily. That’s what I see when I look in your eyes. Does it hurt you when children call you Cotton Candy
Sometimes
I don’t think they are trying to be mean to you, do you think they are mean
Children don’t understand the power of words; to them they are like notes in a song. They love to hear the note flying from their mouth but they don’t know their words carry their history with them
I don’t know what you mean
Children grow up hearing not just the sounds of words but they feel the sounds and it makes them feel good and warm inside to say such words even though the words are hateful and treacherous
I’m still not sure I understand
Of course you cannot understand because you are no longer a child, you know how vulgar and despicable words can be so you are no longer attached to them. But children cannot escape until they let go
So do the words, Cotton Candy, offend you when children call you that
I look in their eyes
